General Description of the Post

There is a broad scope to this post within Sense International India. In line with strategic plans and policy guidelines of Sense International India, the person will work under the Manager – Capacity Building in planning, implementation and monitoring of agreed capacity building objectives within organisation and project partners. S/he will also participate in and contribute towards development of wider institutional strategy. Apart from the above roles, the post holder will have an opportunity to increase their skills and develop the job.

Job Purpose

The position requires planning, developing, and executing online and offline capacity building contents and monitoring quality of trainings within the organisation. The position also necessitates building capacity of partner organisations by supporting through content knowledge, training and skill building activities and within the organisation so as to be the knowledge leader in the field of deafblindness.

A. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

I) Organisation Capacity Building related activities

• Managing online learning management system (LMS) as per the course and batches
• Follow up with partner organisations for the enrolment of candidates and also within the team for advertising the online courses
• Managing schedule of the online sessions for the online course and follow up with faculties/speakers
• Undertake sensitisation/training sessions on deafblindness and multiple disabilities for wide range of stakeholders through online/offline mode
• Support in developing, organising, and coordinating appropriate training courses modules
• Compile, develop, and design appropriate training manuals, course descriptions, and training curricula for other related organisations
• Have good communication and correspondence skills with the participants of online courses.
• To moderate online courses & sessions efficiently.
• Monitor and review the outcome and impact of various online/offline capacity building programmes
• Support in developing capacity building strategy of the organisation
• Document and report various capacity building activities including online courses
• Contribute to regular case studies of persons with deafblindness, parents/caregivers and special educators from project partners
• Support in research work in the field of deafblindness and Multi-sensory impairment
• Extend support to Public Engagement (PE) vertical to plan, execute sign language and other employee engagement activities through physical/online mode.
• To interpret during online/offline meetings, trainings, conferences in sign language or tactile sign language.

II) Working With Partners on Deafblindness Content and Capacity Building

• Identifying training needs of an organisation through appropriate mechanism and regular consultation with partners and stakeholders
• Support partner organisation in developing appropriate training packages
• Hands on training to persons with deafblindness, educators/field staff at project sites on need based deafblindness content issues
• Actively support persons with deafblindness in identifying and participating in a wide range of enjoyable, stimulating and purposeful activities that make for a good quality of life
• Follow up with partners with online/offline training, materials, literature, action plan and other partner support activities related to deafblindness content
• Document and report exchanges among field staff in partner organisations

III) Other requirements

• Support report writing by providing appropriate and timely information across the organisation
• Collate and draft content matter for in-house publications
• Respond appropriately to requests on content issues made to the organisation.
• Support in monitoring and evaluation of training services of other agencies and partners (qualitative and quantitative)
• Coordinate with team members and other departments on content issues
• Follow up with the team members for advertising the online courses
• Provide content support to the networks of adult persons with deafblindness, their families and teachers
• Support in overall administration and smooth functioning of office
• Maintain a data base of training requirements and courses conducted and designed including records of candidates of all the online courses

B. PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Ideally a graduate and having diploma on Indian Sign Language or higher education background in the field of disability such as in Deafblindness and Hearing Impairment.
• Preferably have prior experience of providing training in Indian Sign Language (ISL) to various stake holders
• Should have experience of organising trainings programmes in association with various partners
• Should have fluent knowledge of Indian Sign Language (ISL) and Sign language culture
• Having prior experience of interpreting meetings/trainings/conferences in Indian Sign Language is preferable.
• Willing to travel 6-8 days a month within India
• Able to analyse data and situations and adopt effective course of action
• Relate and interact successfully with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
• Operate a computer, MS Office programs, Google and relevant online applications
• Takes initiative and offers new ideas
• Keep up to date developments in the field by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses

Job Purpose

3. Conceptualise and execute targeted digital fundraising campaigns using relevant and effective digital platforms

2. Support in developing content for Sense India’s Annual Report and quarterly Newsletters and accompanying materials
3. Source and liaise with external suppliers including graphic designers and printers to fulfil our publication requirements that adhere to our brand and values.
4. Create other promotional materials as needed with available design software.

3. Content Management

1. Produce accurate, consistent and powerful copy and content for use on various channels including web, videos and publications
2. Ensure all processes and procedures are followed for collecting, storing and using any content (photos, videos and stories) so that we are fully compliant with data protection and safeguarding regulations.
3. Work with teams and freelancers to collect and source high quality photographs, videos and stories that help produce compelling content for all communications channels.

Job Purpose

The Post-holder will be responsible for leadership and management of public engagement vertical through corporate engagement to achieve Sense India’s mission and to contribute to the overall programme development.

Major Responsibilities:

• Manage end to end process of Employee volunteering at Sense India and identify differentopportunities to source funding from corporates.
• To create volunteering calendar, align different activities with the corporates and manage the events to provide seamless experience to the volunteers across PAN India locations
• To work through effective brand-building and visibility for Sense International (India)and deafblindness through volunteering sessions, stalls, experience zones and etc.
• Work closely with Head – Corporate Engagement to strengthen and expand the corporate volunteering programme.

• Develop and implement (innovative) ideas for donor retention, upgradation and reactivation. This may well include holding surveys of donor expectations; and holding meetings of donors in different cities in India.

The purpose of the role is to raise awareness about the organization to people over telephone and inspire them to contribute funds and become financial supporters

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Make calls and explain about the cause to members of the public by operating telephone equipment, automatic dialing systems, and other telecommunications technologies.
• Achieve daily, weekly and monthly performance targets
• Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
• Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of calls made and results achieved.
• Ensure confidentiality of information pertaining to the Organization.
• Record details of opportunities and lead notes.
• Be a good team player and a gender sensitive co-worker
• Any other role related responsibility assigned by your line manager

Skills and competencies

• Minimum 1 year of experience in tele fundraising. Fresher’s with good interpersonal and communication skills shall also be considered.

Job Purpose

There is a broad scope to this post within Sense International India. In line with Sense International India's strategic plans and policy guidelines to work under the leadership of Head- Capacity Building, in planning, implementing and monitoring agreed objectives/issues focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) with Sense International India partners. The person will participate and contribute to the development of a wider institutional strategy.

It is anticipated and hoped that the nature of the post will change as the work continues to develop. Apart from the above roles, the post holder will have an opportunity to increase their skills and develop the job. This is very much a developmental job and the areas of responsibility will increase over a period of time.

Purpose of the post

To lead Sense International India’s work on SRHR and develop strategies to include SRHR as a cross cutting theme across all projects.

• To build capacity of Sense International India team and its partner organisations to understand the SRHR needs of persons with deafblindness and multiple disabilities.
• To develop resources on SRHR for the benefits of all the stakeholders, i.e. persons with deafblindness and multiple disabilities, their families, teachers, policy makers, etc
• Ensuring proper management and effective utilization of SRHR resources by the partner organisations for the benefit of all the stakeholders.

A. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Programme Development
• Support Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) based programme activities.
• Participate as needed on high-priority activities for SRHR program, including but not limited to data analysis and interpretation, health care worker training,program performance reviews,etc.
• Support in the capacity building needs assessment, planning, organising and facilitating training and workshops for partners
• Support in reporting and documentation of programme activities to various audiences including donors
• Support in logistic arrangement during training and workshops
• Work closely on project proposals to be submitted to donor agencies
Capacity Building of Partners
• Facilitate training for various stakeholders i.e. caregivers, special educators and adults with deafblindness/ multiple disabilities in the sexual and reproductive health domain
• Develop learning materials, publications, research papers, articles etc on SRHR targeting different stakeholders of Sense International India.
• Support Head of Programme and other colleagues in organisational assessment and capacity building plans
• Work closely with project partners to support them in taking greater responsibility of deafblind work in their regions
Other requirements
• Onsite training and support in preparing the reports aligning Sense International India strategies.
• Regular correspondence with partners and maintain updated records and data related SRHR work.
• Assisting Head- Capacity Building and other team members in any other way which leads to the fulfilment of the overall objectives of Sense International India.
• Need-based support to other teams within the organisation viz. Fundraising and public engagement, Communication and Finance.
• Attend meetings and be involved in other activities at irregular hours as required
• Any other work as agreed with the line manager

B. PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential requirements
• Ideally a Postgraduate in public health/social sciences/ disability studies with at least 2 years of work experience on issues related to SRHR.
• Experience in public health programs and /or providing technical assistance in adolescent/youth programme.
• Should have experience in facilitating SRHR training programmes for various stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
• Knowledge of models towards sustainable programmes and networking (including participatory methodologies)
• Demonstrated ability to plan projects, understand budgets, and implement time-bound activities.
• Fluency in English and Hindi is required. Knowledge of other/regional l anguages will be an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft office software applications
• Willing to travel all over India
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Organisational skills, initiative, enthusiasm
• The successful candidate must meet Sense International India’s mandatory background checks to comply with the organisational Safeguarding System
