In line with strategic plans and policy guidelines of Sense International India, the person will work with the team lead by Head - Capacity Building in planning, implementation, and evaluation of capacity building initiatives with project partners. Job Purpose

There is a broad scope to this post within Sense International India. Job Purpose

The position requires planning, developing, and executing online and offline capacity building contents and monitoring quality of trainings within the organisation. The position also necessitates building capacity of partner organisations by supporting through content knowledge, training and skill building activities and within the organisation so as to be the knowledge leader in the field of deafblindness.

A. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

I) Organisation Capacity Building related activities

• Managing online learning management system (LMS) as per the course and batches
• Follow up with partner organisations for the enrolment of candidates and also within the team for advertising the online courses
• Managing schedule of the online sessions for the online course and follow up with faculties/speakers
• Undertake sensitisation/training sessions on deafblindness and multiple disabilities for wide range of stakeholders through online/offline mode

II) Working with Partners on Deafblindness Content and Capacity Building

• Identifying training needs of an organisation through appropriate mechanism and regular consultation with partners and stakeholders

• Hands on training to persons with deafblindness, educators/field staff at project sites on need based deafblindness content issues
• Actively support persons with deafblindness in identifying and participating in a wide range of enjoyable, stimulating and purposeful activities that make for a good quality of life
• Follow up with partners with online/offline training, materials, literature, action plan and other partner support activities related to deafblindness content
• Document and report exchanges among field staff in partner organisations

III) Other requirements

B. PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Should have fluent knowledge of Indian Sign Language (ISL) and Sign language culture

General Description of the Post

There is broad scope for this post within Sense International India, more commonly known as Sense India. In line with Sense India's strategic plans and policy guidelines the post-holder will work under the leadership of the Director in leading, planning, implementing and monitoring agreed objectives within our ‘Finance’ division

1. Job Purpose

• The key area will be to ensure that Sense India has adequate systems for financial planning, budgeting, recording of income and expenditure and reporting.
• Assist in the effective implementation of finance strategy.
• Ensure adherence to the statutory requirements mandated by the government.
• The post holder will be responsible for analysing income and expenditure against various budgets and producing monthly/periodic reports to the Senior Management Team to assist in decision-making.
• Facilitate Internal audit (Quarterly) as well as Statutory (Annual) audit and implement audit recommendations in coordination with team members.
• Support the project partners of Sense India in strengthening their accounting and financial systems

2. Key tasks:

a) Accounting

• To verify income and expenditure on a monthly basis in the accounting software
• Analyse financial reports from field offices and project partners with support from Accounts team
• To process and record all payments and transfers with support from Accounts team
• To conduct regular reviews, and financial monitoring of accounting systems and to suggest and help implement improvements that would lead to increased cost-effectiveness
• Ensure that Sense India operates within the legal and financial guidelines set out in various legislations.
• To verify TDS computations under various applicable sections of the Income Tax Act and compliance thereto
• To support in processing salary payments to staff members of Sense India

b) Budgeting, planning and monitoring

• To support the Director and Senior Management Team to review, monitor and develop appropriate financial systems
• To provide monthly financial forecasts, and maintain income and expenditure dashboards, including cash flow statements.
• To closely monitor the spending patterns and alert when a significant deviation occurs or is likely to occur
• To visit partners for monitoring of financial systems and records and provide recommendations and suggestions based on observations and review.
• To plan systematic investment of funds of the organisation to maximize return while complying with legal norms and meeting cash flow needs
• Assist the Director in the annual budget planning exercise in close collaboration with all departments.

• To be responsible for coordinating internal as well as statutory audit

• To assist in submissions to Income Tax authorities, Charity Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Finance to comply with rules and regulations applicable to Charitable trusts.

e) Staff management

• The post holder will be responsible for leading and line management of skilled team members in the finance division and may be other posts as the organisation develops.

General Description of the Post

There is a broad scope to this post within Sense International India. In line with Sense International India's strategic plans and policy guidelines to work under the leadership of the Head of Programme Development, in planning, implementing and monitoring agreed objectives / issues with Sense International India partners. Participate in and contribute to the development of wider institutional strategy.

It is anticipated and hoped that the nature of the post will change as the work continues to develop. Apart from the above roles, the post holder will have an opportunity to increase their skills and develop the job. This is very much a developmental job and the areas of responsibility will increase over a period of time.

Purpose of the post

1. To implement and monitor Sense India’s programme activities and projects as per the agreed aims and objectives with partner organisations of Sense International India.
2. To undertake monitoring visits to partner organisations and evaluate the causes of success and failure within projects, taking action to ensure that the overall programme learns from them.
3. To develop an analysis of the context in which Sense International India implements its programme and develop/implement participatory approaches in programme planning, monitoring and evaluation.
4. Ensuring proper management and effective utilization of human resources and finances by the partner organisations.
5. Build capacity of partners in area of Programme Management and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Project development and management

• Manage relationship with Sense International India project partners and undertake project appraisal, monitoring, evaluation and ensure high standards of programme activities.
• Monitor progress reports (narrative and financial) from partners to ensure overall compliance with agreed terms.
• Overall Management of programme related qualitative and quantitative information and analysis of it as per the need.
• Visit partner organisations to review project progress and advice partners on programme management and compliance with Sense India objectives.
• Support the programme development vertical to Identify, carry out due-diligence process to establish partnership with like-minded organisations.
• Contribute to project proposal development for various donor agencies / donors.

Programme Development

• Identify needs of partner organisations and plan capacity building initiatives for partner organisations
• Support in organising and facilitating trainings and workshops for partners
• Support in reporting and documentation of programme activities to various audiences including donors
• Support in logistic arrangement during trainings and workshops
• Support Head of Programme Development in organisational assessment and capacity building plans
• Work closely with project partners to support them in expanding awareness on deafblindness and spread of deafblind work in their regions.

Other Requirements

• Feedback partner assessment reports into overall Sense International India strategies
• Regular correspondence with partners and maintain updated records and files.
• Assisting Head of Programme Implementation and MEAL and other team members in any other way which leads to fulfilment of the overall objectives of Sense International India.
• Need based support to other teams within the organisation viz. Public Engagement, Finance and Resource and Information Unit.
• Line manages team member, and ensure healthy work environment.
• Any other work as agreed with the Line Manager

Person Specification

Essential requirements

• Ideally you will be a post graduate in social sciences/ management with a flair to work in the development sector
• At least 3-6 years’ experience in implementation/management of development programmes, preferably in disability field
• Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills
• Knowledge of models towards sustainable programmes and networking (including participatory methodologies).
• Demonstrated ability to plan projects, understand budgets, and implement time bound activities.
• You will be fluent in English and Hindi with good communication skills. Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
• You will have basic knowledge to operate computer and Microsoft Office software.
• You will be willing to travel all over India
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Organisational skills, initiative, enthusiasm

• Support in capacity building need assessment, planning, organising and facilitating trainings and workshops for partners
