Location : Ahmedabad, although the job will involve occasional travel
Salary : Commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be at par with the NGO sector. Other benefits as per existing policies will be applicable after completion of probationary period.

General description of Sense India and the Post
The Post-holder will be responsible for fundraising from various Companies and Trusts/Foundation with assistance from the Public Engagement team to achieve Sense India’s annual fundraising targets.
The Post-holder will work with and support the Senior Manager – Foundation and Corporate and Head – Public Engagement to create a database of companies, cold calling and emailing them, pitching organisations work and build relationships with donor organisations. The person will work in line with agreed plans and targets on a monthly basis. The overall goal is to raise funds from Companies and Foundations to support deafblind work in India.
It is anticipated that the nature of the post will change as work and opportunities develop. Apart from the above roles, the Post-holder will have an opportunity to increase his/ her own skills and develop the job.
Researching for potential Companies and creating a database of prospects.
Identifying the right point of contact at the company and approaching the prospects through cold calls/emails
Follow up with Companies for setting up meetings and taking it forward to the proposal submission stage.
Regular follow ups post proposal submission.
Support in finalizing proposals and concept notes.
Devise and present innovative fundraising ideas of mutual benefit to a corporate and Sense India.
Attend networking events to develop new relationships
Develop opportunities for corporate sponsorship, corporate membership schemes, payroll-giving, employee fundraising and other forms of corporate engagement
Review the quality of all corporate led events within the parameters of responsible financial management and positive PR and media coverage
Ensure volunteers are used as often as possible to support and expand corporate engagement activities
Ensure all corporate supporters receive relevant and timely communication resulting in the development of long-term relationships
Produce monthly reports that outline progress and achievements within the period including number of Corporate approached, meetings set etc.
Keep informed on market trends and developments in the corporate sector
Ensure that, via corporate relations, all opportunities are maximized to generate awareness and understanding of the work that we do.
Represent Sense India to corporate audiences and at corporate events
Graduation and above in any discipline. For example, MBA marketing/customer relations
At least 1-3 year of Fundraising/Business Development related experience.
Experience of Cold Calling/Email Marketing and Fundraising
An understanding of the corporate sector and CSR responsibilities
A highly motivated individual who is able to work well on their own initiative, as well as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people at all levels
Excellent time management and organsational skills
Interpersonal skills – able to interact with wide variety of personnel to achieve positive outcomes and establish sustainable relationships & partnerships
IT self-sufficient - knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Work closely with the relevant staff across Sense India and to ensure effective co-operation and collaboration
Ability to plan and prioritize own workload and work without close supervision.
Past experience in Fundraising/Business Development
Experience/familiarity with Databases
Knowledge of or empathy with the work for people with disabilities/ deafblindness
